Monday...

Well, the week is off an running...

Megan left for camp this morning. :-( :-) I know that she will love it and I am glad she went, but it was very hard for me to watch her go. She is the baby and the one that still goes with me everywhere. I now have three days without my little girl jumping in the van with me to do all of my taxiing around. I'll miss her. (However she looked so cute when she left with her new little Gymboree outfit and hair braided.)

My books finally came from Amazon! I was so put out with them. I preordered three books clear back in January. (One actually came out in February, but so I didn't have to pay shipping I put it with my books that came out last week.) When the release date happened for my two books I was so excited! I just knew my books would be here anyday since I had preordered them six months ago! Well, almost a week later they finally arrived. No more preordering for me! I'll pay the extra two dollars to get them at Wal-Mart next time. I'm now off to read the new Janet Evanovich book and the new Mary Kay Andrews book. Two of my favorite authors! :-)

Weekend

Yesterday Megan played in a softball tournament in Columbus. They looked so cute! There were times they would be playing and would be awesome, and then other times it was like a totally different team. They lost three and won one, but had a great time! I on the other hand was dying in the 100 degree heat all day. I kept the book, and I usually cross my legs so I can hold the book. Kinda hard to do when your legs are sweating because it is so hot. Yuck! However, I couldn't have been prouder of Megan!

Tomorrow she leaves for camp until Wednesday. Wow! Scary that my baby is old enough to go to overnight camp!

Brady just got home from camp yesterday afternoon. He was there from Tuesday until Saturday. He had a great time and has been full of stories to tell us from his week!

Vic's 13 year old baseball team went to Parsons yesterday to play in a triangle. The first game was against Parsons. I think that Vic enjoyed it a lot! He played Bo's team and Vic's team won 10-2. :-) The second game they beat Coffeyville 12-0. Way to go guys! That is exciting stuff! :-)

Good Bye For Now

Vic's Uncle Ed (Ed Dixon) died from cancer on Wednesday. He was a great guy and will be sadly missed by many, many people.

Raymond E. “Ed” Dixon, Jr., 66, of rural Parsons, died at 8:45 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at his home following a brief illness.
He was born April 25, 1943, in Parsons, to Raymond E. Dixon, Sr. and Ruth M. (Tunget) Dixon. As a young boy, he grew up in the Edna, Bartlett and Parsons areas where he attended elementary schools and later attended Labette County Community High School in Altamont.

He worked at Swift & Company in Parsons 1½ years before becoming employed by the M-K-T Railroad in Parsons, and later the UP Railroad in Coffeyville, where he worked as a Gandy dancer and carman. He retired from the railroad following 30 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed working part-time at Better Built by Barnes.

He was a member of the Church of God in Parsons. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, gardening, collecting belt buckles and miniature cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He and Ginger McGuire were married September 2, 1962, at the First Baptist Church in Parsons. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: Four Sons – Eddie Dixon Parsons, KS James Dixon Parsons, KS David Dixon Parsons, KS Tim Dixon and his wife, Angie Oxford, KS Foster Daughter – Summer Bozarth and numerous other foster children Ten Grandchildren – Jordan & Jarrett Dixon Josh Carter Crystle, Cami, Cira & Erica Dixon Codie & Cyle Merchant Tiffany Wimp One Brother – Jerry Dixon, Sr. Parsons, KS Four Sisters – Beverly Hawes & her husband Tom Van Nuys, CA Jean Samples Parsons, KS Carol Colvin Parsons, KS Kay Pratt Parsons, KS In-laws – Robert & Alice Williams Parsons, KS Jim & Connie McGuire St. Paul, KS Ronnie & Heather McGuire Erie, KS Glenna Randall Parsons, KS Charlotte & Jack Brown Parsons, KS Ross & Carol Wilkerson Kansas City, KS Gary & Judy Mottson Pittsburg, KS Bobby Williams Kansas City, MO Kathy & Joe Arp Brighton, CO Jerry & Amy Williams Littleton, CO Numerous Nieces & Nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Dixon, Sr. and Ruth M. Kebert; brother-in-law, Raymond McGuire, and sister-in-law, Lisa McGuire.

Personally I always enjoyed the fact that he gave Vic such a hard time. Vic is a big teaser as most of you know. Still to this day when he tells a story I can't tell what of it is truth and what of it he has totally thrown in. Well, Ed always gave Vic a hard time. I always enjoyed watching them together.

My favorite "Ed moment" though would have to be when he painted Carol's porch pink. I'll never forget that he had helped Vic and Bo redo Carol's porch. Well, one day I pull up and crack up because he is painting her porch pink. (For those of you that don't know, Ed was color blind.) I asked him, "Ed, why are you painting the porch pink?" He looked at me like I was crazy and says, "It's not pink. See, right here on the bucket it says, white paint." I laughed and told him I didn't care what the bucket said, that was pink paint. We argued (laughing of course) about it for a little bit and he finally went inside to get Carol for her opinion. She comes out and looks around and sheepishly tells him that it was in fact pink. It was so funny! We had a good laugh that day. :-)

We will miss Ed! He was trully a wonderful man!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Well, it is a busy week as usual.

But! After three days I am almost totally caught up on the laundry! I even had the girls bring all of theirs down from upstairs so I don't finish and then they dump it on me. I only have three loads left and then some odds and ends that have to be washed "special." I am sooooo excited! Thank goodness for my clothesline. Thanks to it I haven't had to heat up the house anymore than necessary (because it is already hot!!!) by using the dryer.

Tori and Aubrey have started weights this week. Have I mentioned that 8 a.m. is waaaaayyyy too early for this girl that likes to sleep until noon???

Tuesdays now Tori and the cheerleaders go over to Parsons for tumbling practice with Mary Friess. It is my week to help drive. (They went last week and Tori REALLY enjoyed it and said that she learned a lot.)

Wednesdays Tori has volleyball after weights.

Tori and Aubrey have 3 and a half hours of dance Wednesday night.

Vic's 13-14 team has a double header Thursday night.

Tonight Tori played a double header in Liberal, MO. We won both games! YEAH! The first game was a blow out, but the 2nd one was a nail biter the whole way. We wound up going 10 innings. Two of those innings we even used the International Tie Breaker. We won 10 - 8. Tori has some GREAT shots! I got her triple on video. I'll post it when I get it downloaded.

Tomorrow night Tori plays another double header, and then another on Thursday.

Brady has a game tomorrow, a double header on Friday, and another game on Saturday.

Megan plays in eight and under softball substate this weekend.

Tori and Aubrey have a dance convention in KC this Sat.

AND...Megan and Aubrey are attending Bible School in Beulah this week. :-) http://beulahvbs.shutterfly.com/

HAVE I MENTIONED IT IS A BUSY, BUSY, BUSY WEEK?????
